“Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4 (NKJV)
As facilitator of the Writers Life Group, I originally set about to sow what I know about the writing world into those interested. Consequently, I have had the honor and privilege to unite with others of similar vein. The result has been a safe haven for both me and the group to explore what God intends us to do with our passion for writing. We united together last year, along with other writer’s groups in Texas, to create a wonderful book that supports the families of fallen solders (See www.fallenwarriors.org). Our pen became our mission statement. Through that exercise, we realized we had become a family.
The best recommendation of a group comes from its members. Read what others have to say about Writers Life Group (WLG):
“To write may take a village. That is what has risen up in WLG. It truly is a microcosm of Lakewood centered on the desire to write well and to encourage each other to learn the craft of writing while sharing Jesus with the world.” - Mark Johanningmeier
“The teachings have made me a better author and person.” - Delores Mitchell
“Attending WLG gave me the courage to believe that my dream could really come true.” - Erika Glenn
“When something or someone helps me access the Holy Spirit, it becomes precious and priceless. WLG sets aside the busy day and integrates my mind, body and spirit, rendering the writer inside refreshed and reborn.' - Sherrie M. Cherry
“Whether they be words of faith, hope, love or a collection of heart-warming stories born out of old memories, WLG is about expression on the page as well as off.” - William Culbreath
I hope you will be inspired to join with others of like passion through the Life Group offerings at Lakewood Church. These groups are a place to deepen your spiritual walk, build your spiritual family and celebrate life’s journeys!
