Lakewood's Internship Program just graduated our 10th class of interns. The Internship Program was launched in 2006 with 24 interns. Now, ten years later, 166 interns have successfully completed the program that was designed to allow individuals who feel a call to full or part time ministry to experience what it is like to be in ministry.
Selected interns serve within their specific ministry of interest. Some of these ministries include: KidsLife, Middle School, High School Youth, Young Adults, Connexion, Servolution, Missions, Champions Club, Pastoral Care, Marriage and Parenting, Music, and Media.
25 former interns are currently employed at Lakewood Church. Other interns have gone on to serve in ministry at churches and non-profit organizations. Many have gone on to work in business and use the skills they learned during internship.
"Internship is intensive", shared Intern Director John Bowman. "Interns are different when they graduate. They develop inside and out to become everything God created them to be. Internship is challenging and allows them to truly experience what it is like to be in ministry", he continued.
The 2016-2017 Internship class will begin in September. The next application process will begin in Spring 2017.
